Research has shown that in-office based vision therapy with at-home therapy is the most effective way to successfully treat Convergence Insufficiency, or CI. A variety of eye exercises will be performed to treat the CI. The main aim of in-office treatment is to strengthen eye muscles for near distances and improve the focussing response of the eyes. Treatment is usually performed for one hour every week with a trained therapist over 3 months. At-home therapy is a useful supplement to in-office therapy, however, it has been shown that at-home therapy alone is not as effective as office based treatment.
